Small Research Grant Scheme (SRGS)
FSTE Small Research Grant Scheme
Objectives and Scope
In recognition that research informs practice including those of strategic planning and decision-making, FSTE Research and Development Committee has established a framework for a Small Research Grant Scheme which aimed at supporting eligible individuals, or groups of individuals to conduct research. Such research should be closely linked to the issues faced by the sector and forthe professional growth of practitioners and scholars of the sector.
Specifically, the Scheme aims to:
-
Inform practice in the areas of teaching and learning especially in the aspects of discovery, integration, teaching, and application;
-
Offer direct support to aspiring individuals in the sector engaging in innovative research and scholarship in related areas;
-
Assist institutions to build up their own research capability; and
-
Contribute to the research culture of the sector by building up links with partner organizations to foster research collaboration and academic exchanges.
The scope of the Scheme encourages getting results to innovative questions posed by individuals rather than institutional research. Applied research and action research are strongly encouraged.
