The Conference, co-organized by FSTE and HKCAAVQ (Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications), was held on 17 November 2016 with more than 200 practitioners in the sector gathered around and shared their views, professional experience, latest research as well as exchanging ideas, on Teaching & Learning and Enhancing Student Learning Experience.
The HKSAR Secretary for Education, Mr Eddie Ng, SBS, JP, Professor Peter Yuen, Chairman of FSTE, and Ms Dorte Kristoffersen, Executive Director of HKCAAVQ, kicked off the half-day conference with an Opening Remark and Welcoming Address respectively.
Our guests and participants enjoyed much at the Keynote Speech Session when Professor Kai-ming Cheng, Emeritus Professor and former Pro-Vice-Chancellor of The University of Hong Kong, shared with us the redefined higher education in a different era; while Professor Beverley Oliver, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) of Deakin University, on the current and future challenges in digital education.
In the concurrent sessions, 24 teams of practitioners shared their work and views with our participants.
The Conference closed with a networking reception in the evening. In responses to the overwhelming feedback from our guests and participants, we will definitely explore the feasibility of lengthening conference of its kind in the future, so as to allow a more in-depth idea-exchanging discussion.
